ITP is uniquely equipped to preserve the history of Aikido. The holistic model of education at ITP has always included Aikido, a martial arts discipline that provides direct experience of many fundamental transpersonal principles, like centering and harmony.

The nearly 3,000-image personal photo collection of Aikido and Buddhist scholar, Professor John Stevens, serves as the basis for this project. Additional photos taken personally by direct students of O'Sensei, along with the complete archive of "Aikido Today" magazine and images of O'Sensei's calligraphy round out the collection.

Your gift will help defray the costs of digitizing original negatives and prints and purchasing a state-of-the-art digital storage system. Only with your help can we complete and maintain this priceless digital archive for all to enjoy.
